A leaked spec sheet, complete with photos, of the fabled HTC HD3 has drifted our way thanks to mobilmentalism.com.
While the stats are hard to believe, (Frontward facing camera for video chat in HD...WHAT?!) the pictures look incredible! This would be one killer handset, to be sure, but will HTC deliver on this dream?
Have a look at some of the specs and you decide.
  • 4.5-inch AMOLED screen with 1280×800 resolution
  • 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 1080p HD video playback
  • 720p HD video recording
  • 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash
  • Multi-touch screen
  • Super-thin - just 10mm thick
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity
  • 4G connectivity for blisteringly fast downloads that are over ten times as fast as today's HSDPA phones
  • 1GB onboard RAM
  • 1GB onboard
  • 32GB external memory
  • 3.5? headphone jack
  • HDMI output for connecting to your HDTV or monitor
  • 1800mAh battery for super-long battery life
  • Bigger screen than the HD2, but a smaller overall physical size: 115mm x 65mm x 10mm
As yet, there's no release date for the HTC HD3.
This seems like a pretty tall order, even for HTC to fill. However, if supply and demand has anything to say about it, there will certainly be demand for this phone.
All HTC has to do now is come up with a supply.

Countdown begins for the HTC HD3

The HTC HD3, which was leaked in March, will be formally revealed to the world on September 15. The beast is likely to have a  1.5 GHz processor and a 4.5 inch  display and will be shown off in London according to our source in the Queen Vic Pub.
The HTC Touch HD, also known as the HTC T828X or its codename the HTC Blackstone, is a Windows Mobile 6.1 -powered luxury Pocket PC designed and manufactured by HTC. Part of the HTC Touch Family, it most notably features a larger, higher-resolution display than those found in most smart-phones available at the time, a 5-megapixel camera, a second front facing camera to enable Videophone functionality, an accelerometer, GPS, FM RDS radio reception, high resolution video recording capability and SD Micro card compatibility (up to 64 GB). It also features quad band GSM and dual band UMTSconnectivity, as well as the proprietary TouchFLO 3D user interface developed by HTC. However, it lacks the left side slide-out keyboard of the HTC Touch Pro.

HTC will use the same event to unveil a new 2.2 running Desire and an Android tablet. The early leaks are proving to be right, our sauce claims. It will still have a 4.5" display, only now it is AMOLED (1200x800).

It will have a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, WiFi, 4G and 32 GB of storage, an 8 MP camera and 2 LED flashes. Word on the street is that it will run Windows Phone 7, and launch first in Down Under.
